Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service 2024
Join hundreds of your mid-peninsula neighbors for a community-wide day of service to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and Mitzvah Day (a day of good deeds – acts of empathy and kindness) organized by Youth Community Service (YCS) and the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto in partnership with the City of East Palo Alto and the City of Palo Alto.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service community gathering and celebration event on Monday, January 15 between 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Mitchell Park Community Center in Palo Alto. This event is a culmination of a day of service throughout the community. The event will feature local youth-led service projects, performances, guest speakers and information tables presenting local service organizations and community resources.
The Monday service day will include intergenerational, hands-on service projects at local organizations; participants will work in small groups on projects addressing issues of poverty, hunger, housing and homelessness, aging, the environment, and more. Open to all ages! Featuring projects for individuals & families. Children under 14 must be accompanied by adults. Mitzvah Day Service times: 9:30am – 12:00pm.
