The Service Learning Coordinator for YCS Summer of Service will work directly in the community to implement youth-centered service learning programs in the midpeninsula area including East Palo Alto and Palo Alto. The Coordinator will be an essential part of YCS programs that are grounded in the YCS values of youth voice, equity, and meaningful community connection.

As part of the YCS Summer of Service Team you will…

• Get to work with community members from many different backgrounds and cultures
• Be part of cultivating a culture of service
• Engage rising 9th to graduating 12th grade students in meaningful service
• Make a difference in the lives of youth by empowering them to become active and compassionate members of their communities
• Work collaboratively with a dynamic team of YCS Staff and community partners

A successful Coordinator…

• Values youth leadership and community building through service
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
• Is experienced in facilitating and working with young people
• Is creative and excited to learn new things
• Loves to work with youth!

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bilingual preferred
• Candidate will be responsible for their own transportation for fieldwork (with mileage reimbursement).
• All YCS staff members are required to submit a copy of their automobile insurance, CA driver’s license and a clean DMV record.
• All YCS staff members are required to submit results from a TB test and complete Live Scan fingerprint screening.
• YCS will arrange tests at no cost.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required at multiple sites that YCS works in. A copy of your vaccine card will need to be submitted to YCS.
