Presented by Youth Community Service and the Palo Alto Family YMCA

LEAD is a service and mentorship program for 3rd – 5th and 9th – 12th grade students. Upper elementary school students work alongside high school students in service, making connections in the community and building friendships. Some of our previous projects include; supporting local farms with bee habitats, making a warm gift for families in need, and encouraging strangers to have a nice day with handwritten notes.

By joining LEAD…

  • High school students will complete leadership training and help foster a love for service in the next generation.
  • Elementary school students will work collaboratively with caring older youth and experience the value of service to others.

LEAD stands for: Leadership, Engagement, Asset Development. This program utilize the Developmental Asset framework [link: http://www.projectcornerstone.org/html/developmentalassets.html] with a special focus on #9 Service to Others.

LEAD is open to any 3rd – 5th or 9th – 12th grade students who is able to commit to the program. We will have a fall session and a spring session.
