We are looking for a new High School Programs Manager to support quality programming in and out of school in partnership with the schools we serve in the mid-peninsula area. We currently work in schools in East Palo Alto, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City, and Mountain View and are looking to expand to other local schools. The Program Manager will bring their past knowledge and skills to work closely with our staff and partners to implement youth-centered programming grounded in our values of youth voice, equity, and meaningful community connection.

We’re looking for someone to join our small, dynamic team who will bring enthusiasm for youth development in our diverse community, has a proven ability to lead staff, and has a passionate commitment to building community. 

The role of the High School Programs Manager is to:

  • Implement YCS high school programs including Youth Connect Peer Leadership program, an upstream prevention program amplifying youth voice through active engagement in schools and the community, and school service days and fairs that bring service to whole school communities.
  • Develop programs and partnerships to deepen the youths’ experiences. 
  • Supervise the high school programs team to support and increase professional skills. 
  • Expand the reach of the programs to impact the lives of all youth in our community. 

 

Duties and responsibilities of the High School Programs Manager: 

  • Work with the YCS team to develop an engaging and relevant curriculum that is aligned with the YCS service learning model. 
  • Work directly with youth participants as needed to support the program coordinators. 
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, school, and community partners to foster collaboration and mutual support. 
  • Actively cultivate a culture that centers youth voice and equity. 
  • Administrative duties such as approving time cards, writing program reports, and documenting the program. 
  • Ensures alignment with YCS strategic direction while maintaining a high quality program that delivers on grants and other contracted obligations.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years experience in management 
  • Background in Youth Program Delivery 
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience 
  • Candidates will be responsible for their transportation for fieldwork (with mileage reimbursement)
  • All YCS staff members are required to submit a copy of their automobile insurance, CA driver’s license, and a clean DMV record.
  • All YCS staff members are required to submit results from a TB test and complete Live Scan fingerprint screening. YCS will arrange tests at no cost.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required at multiple sites that YCS works in. A copy of your vaccine card will need to be submitted to YCS.
